UNT Dual Credit Program

Get an early start on your college degree with dual credit courses!

Students at participating high schools can take UNT courses that count for both high school and college credit—at the same time. You will save money, finish your college degree faster, and get a jumpstart on your career.

Online Dual Credit Courses

A project-based dual credit program available to students in:

  • Frisco ISD
  • Leadership Prep School

Eligibility

Students eligible to enroll in dual credit courses must:

  • Be enrolled in high school or school districts with a dual credit agreement with UNT
  • Obtain permission from a high school counselor or administrator
  • Meet prerequisites or other requirements for the dual credit course(s)

Contact DualCredit@unt.edu for required academic advising and Texas Success Initiative college readiness assessment if you have completed 15 or more college credit hours (five classes) at a college or university.

It is important that you are successful in dual credit classes to stay on track to graduate high school.  All dual credit students should evaluate their readiness for college level work prior to enrolling in dual credit classes. Successful dual credit students:

  • Have high academic performance in high school classes
  • Are self-motivated and manage time well
  • Have strong reading, writing, and math skills

Tuition & Fees

UNT offers reduced tuition and fees for dual credit courses.

  • Tuition = $50 per credit hour
  • Fees = $25 per credit hour
