Application Deadlines

Transfer applicants may apply up to a year in advance of their expected term of enrollment. It's encouraged to apply as early as possible for the best opportunities for scholarships, orientation dates, and on-campus housing options. 

Apply by the priority dates to be considered for the UNT Transfer Excellence Scholarship. Applications received after these priority dates will still be considered.

When you apply for admission by the priority date, you're automatically considered for our UNT Transfer Excellence Scholarship. Apply and be admitted by the priority dates to ensure that all high school records and entrance exams are current with UNT

Application Fees

It is Admissions policy that every application submitted to the University of North Texas requires a fee payment or application fee waiver. You may pay the application fee by credit card, money order or check. The application fee must be paid in U.S. dollars and is non-refundable.

A payment checklist item will be added to your myUNT student portal 2-3 days after your MyUNT activation email.

Common Application Users

Contact adm.app@unt.edu with your 8 digit UNT ID number, full name from application, and a request to pay your application fee.

Money Order or Checks

If paying by money order or check, please mail your payment to us. Be sure to include the student's full name on the money order or check so we can credit the payment to the correct account.

Fee Waivers

Application fee waivers must be uploaded to your myUNT portalInternational applicants who do not qualify for Texas residency are not eligible for a fee waiver.

Qualifying applicants may request a fee waiver by submitting their application via ApplyTexas or the Common Application. When prompted for a payment, please select the fee waiver request option to allow the application to be submitted. Selecting a fee waiver on the application does not guarantee your fee will be waived.

In limited cases, the admission application fee may be waived. To be considered for an admission application fee waiver students must submit one of the following to the university:

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) showing the Student Aid Index (SAI) of $0 or less.

  • Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) showing the Student Aid Index (SAI) of $0 or less.
