Strengths based leadership is the next step to learning and becoming a great manager. Knowing your own strengths and those of your co-workers will help you find a more cohesive way of working together, move forward as a team, and unlock greater potential for yourself and others. During this course we will take a deep dive into Run, Hide, Fight. You will also learn statistics, indicators and resources. The aim is to better prepare the attendees should they find themselves in an Active Threat Situation. Presented by Cpl. David Causey with UNT Police.

In this presentation we will take a look at practical things you can do each day to work toward a Healthier You. We will include tips and campus resources, and will end the session with an optional tour of the Pohl Recreation Center. Presented by Wendy Comfort with Recreational Sports.  
March 9 Noon - 1 p.m. Guided Mindfulness Coaching Support and Services Building, Room 102 Register Here  
In these guided mindfulness coaching session you will be asked to be blindfolded to block out distractions and to help your brain focus on using and developing your other senses like touch, smell and hearing. Along with therapeutic sounds and aromatherapy, this exercise aims to reduce anxiety and stress, allowing the opportunity for the meditator to experience their practice in an expansive, non-judgmental way. Presented by Val Vidal with the Campus Talent Acquisition team.

Relieve some stress creating your very own calming jar! Calming jars are used to help soothe children when they are getting ready to throw a tantrum but they also work great for adults as a small distraction to relieve stress. While sensory jars can be created with a variety of crafts, for this session we will be using glitter for the jars. Materials will be provided. Presented by Terri Liles and Maria Velazquez of Human Resources.

Learn the fundamentals of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The purpose of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is to help you lead your life in a truly effective way. They represent a proven process of personal and interpersonal growth that can have an immediate and lasting impact. Presented by  Dr. Gina Vanacore with Housing and Residence Life.

Please join Dr. Kinshuk, dean of the College of Information, for an hour meditation session which you can practice from your office or living room.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the emotional and physical benefits of meditation can include: gaining a new perspective on stressful situations, developing skills to manage your stress, increased self-awareness, reduced negative emotions, the ability to better focus on the present, increased patience and tolerance, lower resting blood pressure, increased imagination and creativity, improved sleep quality, and lower resting heart rate.

We experience power struggles in every type of relationship given that power is ever present in our interactions with others. In this session, we will discuss the different types of power (both positive and negative), influences on power, and strategies to deal with power differences across relationships. Do candles play a crucial role in your self-care practice? Learn how to make your own! This workshop will provide a brief overview of the craft candle making, demonstrate the process, and walk attendees through taking their very own candle and endowing it with an affirmation using crystals and botanicals. All supplies will be provided by the Staff Senate for pick-up ahead of this workshop.
