Dear UNT faculty and staff,
2020 has been a year like none other for UNT. We have faced unforeseen obstacles,
but I am proud of our UNT community's resilience and determination to push UNT forward.
If anything, the pandemic has accelerated our plans to become a next generation university.
This fall, we will once again participate in the annual Gallup survey and your feedback
will be more important than ever. In the wake of COVID-19, it's crucial we ensure
faculty and staff voices are heard, and this survey can provide a snapshot of our
engagement during this time of uncertainty.
The Gallup survey is a tool to measure how we are doing in areas related to performance
management needs, employee motivation and psychological commitment. Responses from
the survey can help improve the UNT experience for you, your coworkers and our students.
The Gallup survey is completely confidential and only takes five minutes to complete.
Please be honest so that we can obtain an accurate picture of where we are now and
what we need to do to become a more engaging and supportive organization.
The survey will be open Oct. 26 through Nov. 6 and results will be shared in early
December. Future communications will provide greater detail about the Gallup survey,
including when and how results will be distributed.
We know engagement generally cannot be improved overnight — it's a journey that will
help us further our university's mission and the services we provide our students.
It has been a tough year, but I am proud of the work you are doing to help our university
succeed.
I hope you will dedicate five minutes to complete the survey so we can improve — and
transform UNT from a good place to work to a great place to work.
UNT proud,
Neal Smatresk
UNT President
