Dear UNT community,
At UNT, we know what happens when you combine creativity, originality and discovery. You get a kind of excellence that exists only at UNT, as you'll see in our new video.
We have our own way of being and our point of view that makes UNT one of a kind. We're a top-tier research university, distinguished in every way — and we're a university on the move. Check out our new rankings site and our fresh new homepage that showcases how UNT and our programs stand out.
We keep getting better. I want you to be a part of the excitement this year, and doing so is easy. Simply participate in the many events happening this fall. Highlights include:
- Join me for the President's State of the University address at 3 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Murchison Performing Arts Center.
- Mean Green football season opener Sept. 3 against SMU at Apogee. New era. New season. New opportunities! We'll kick off our football season with our new head football coach, Seth Littrell, and our new athletic director, Wren Baker. They are both passionate about athletics and bring great experience in building a winning program. Join us at Apogee for every game and tune in when our games are broadcast. Be loud and be proud!
- Family Weekend is Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
- Homecoming Week is Oct. 31-Nov. 5. Come out and celebrate all week long and help us go for Mean Green glory at the homecoming game against Louisiana Tech Nov. 5!
- Remember, you don't have to wait until then to show your pride. Every Friday is Mean Green Pride Day when we paint the campus and the town green!
For those of you who are new to UNT, welcome to the family. As eagles, we like to soar to new heights. The sky is the limit!
UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
