Sept. 1, 2016
Dear UNT community,
You're a member of the Mean Green Nation and one of the best ways you can show your pride is by wearing green. We have a great tradition of wearing green on Fridays — or Mean Green Pride Day — when students, faculty, staff and alumni wear our school colors and UNT-branded clothing to show the size, power and pride of the Mean Green Nation.
When you wear green or UNT-branded clothing on Fridays, take a selfie and share it on social media using the #MeanGreenFriday hashtag for a chance to win a UNT spirit pack. To learn more, visit the Mean Green Pride website. We'll also hand out limited edition Mean Green T-shirts on Fridays at the Library Mall to students who show us their Mean Green selfies.
Let's wear our school colors every Friday, at games, at work, around town — wherever you are — and make other schools green with envy at our school pride! You can start by wearing your green tomorrow and at our football season opener against SMU on Saturday! Be there and be loud and be proud!
Good luck to all of you in the new semester, and Go Mean Green!
UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
