Dear UNT faculty and staff,

Today is the first day of UNT's State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), which is an opportunity for you to support local, state, national and international charities through a one-time donation via cash, check or payroll deduction.

Nearly 400 eligible organizations participate in the state's annual campaign, which runs Oct. 1-31, 2018.

Please consider financially supporting UNT's SECC campaign by making a one-time donation or by participating in campus-wide fundraising events and giveaways this month. The minimum donation is $2. Even the smallest contributions go a long way, particularly when giving has a local impact on the Denton community — neighbors helping neighbors.

For the first time, payroll deduction pledges will be completed through the SECC Texas Giving Portal. Everyone who wishes to contribute using payroll deduction, including existing donors, will need to register on the site. If you wish to contribute through a cash or check donation, or need assistance completing a payroll deduction pledge, please contact your department coordinator for assistance.

UNT has set a goal of a 32 percent participation rate, up from 29 percent last year. Will you help us reach that goal?

I've long said that UNT is the most caring campus, and SECC is one way to show how we care for others.
