Dear UNT faculty and staff,
So many of you stepped up to increase our Gallup survey response rate and I want to show my appreciation for that. I am delighted to announce that UNT will close at noon Friday, March 30. This gift of time is a small token to recognize your unwavering commitment to helping UNT fulfill its mission of providing our students with the best undergraduate experience in Texas.
Providing each of you with a half day of time to enjoy your personal lives is a fitting gesture to end our Staff Appreciation Month. Thank you for what you do to help our students succeed and help UNT become a “Best Place to Work.”
Instructions regarding how to record the closure hours are detailed online by Payroll Time & Labor.
I truly thank you for everything you do that makes UNT the successful, creative and caring university our students need to succeed. Our campus wouldn't be the same without you.
And in case you haven't yet heard, I'm very proud that UNT Men's Basketball will play in the College Basketball Invitational championship game at 6 p.m. March 30 in the Coliseum. Even though the UNT campus will be closed, we will host that game as planned. I hope that you can make plans to attend this exciting event!
UNT proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
Please Note:
- All classes scheduled for noon and later will be cancelled. However, UNT's online classes through Blackboard and Canvas are unaffected by the closure.
- All offices will close at noon for the remainder of the day. Only those employees who have been identified by their supervisors as essential personnel are requested to report to work or remain at work. As is usual during closures, the UNT Willis Library building will remain open for use by students and researchers, and the UNT Health Center, Pohl Recreation Center and parts of the University Union also will be open for usual operating hours with reduced staffing.
