Dear UNT community,
Please join me in sending our most heartfelt condolences to the students, faculty, staff and administration at Texas A&M University-Commerce as they come together as a community to heal from today's tragic shooting in one of their residence halls.
If this tragedy impacts you personally for any reason, do not hesitate to ask for help. We have many resources available to you:
- Students may receive free counseling through the university's Counseling and Testing Services, 940-565-2741.
- Faculty and staff have access to free short-term counseling services through the university's Employee Assistance Program, 1-800-343-3822.
- An additional resource is UNT's CARE Team, which works to help protect the health, safety and welfare of UNT students and the members of the UNT community. You can reach out to the CARE Team by calling 940-565-4373 or emailing careteam@unt.edu.
The UNT Police Department and administration work hand-in-hand to help ensure our campus is a safe, caring environment where students thrive. If you ever feel unsafe or suspect something unusual, please call UNT Police at 940-565-3000 or dial 911.
Please keep our friends and colleagues from Texas A&M University-Commerce in your thoughts this week.
