Dear Spring and Summer graduates,
The days set aside to celebrate your graduation are drawing near, and we are working hard to make commencement a special event for you, your family and your friends. A virtual event is not the celebration we had in mind to honor you, but necessary for the health and safety of our UNT family.
This week, we launched a virtual commencement webpagecomplete with the information you need to plan live or on-demand watch parties. Ceremony schedules, livestream links, frequently asked questions, instructions on hooding master's and doctoral graduates, and more is available online. All ceremonies will be livestreamed to the virtual commencement page and archived for on-demand viewing.
We wanted to celebrate in person with you and the entire Class of 2020. There's no adequate substitution for a face-to-face celebration and we wish things could be different. We will miss shaking your hand as you cross the stage and sharing our congratulations with you on a job well done. We know you will miss seeing your professors and classmates one final time — and showing your alma mater off to loved ones.
When faced with drastic change and huge challenges, you persevered and achieved the goal you set your sights on years ago. Your UNT family is proud of you, and we look forward to celebrating your accomplishments during our Aug. 18 - 21 commencement ceremonies.
