You play a critical role in helping our students succeed and building the UNT of tomorrow. As you care for our students, it's important that you, too, feel supported, valued, and appreciated in the workplace. Each year through the Gallup Engagement Survey we have an opportunity to evaluate progress on our strategic goal to attract, develop, and celebrate the campus community members that make UNT an outstanding environment in which to learn and work.
In coordination with the UNT System, UNT will administer the Gallup survey for the fifth year to gain insight about your experience as a UNT employee. Survey feedback helps leadership across the university — from the Cabinet to your direct supervisor — uncover trends in employee satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and highlight opportunities for increased employee engagement. Past survey results prompted change, including enhanced training programs (I'm especially excited about the new AccouUNTable Supervisor program we're piloting this fall), and encouraging flexibility and meeting-free time to support work-life balance and combat burnout. We also raised minimum wage for staff employees to $13 an hour, effective Sept. 1, 2022.
The Gallup survey will be administered Oct. 3-14, and takes about five minutes to complete. You'll receive survey emails directly from Gallup and all responses are confidential. We ask that all faculty and staff members make time to complete this important measurement tool. The results will be released later this fall, and be used by unit-level managers to shape continued employee engagement initiatives.
UNT remains a tremendous workplace, but we must continue to evolve to best support the well-being and development of our faculty and staff in an ever-changing environment. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your feedback.
UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
