Dear UNT Graduate,

Congratulations on earning your degree from the University of North Texas. Graduating from college is an incredible accomplishment, but crossing the finish line during such difficult times shows exceptional dedication.

Under normal circumstances, I would be kicking off commencement ceremonies in our famed Super Pit packed with proud Mean Green parents, family, alumni and friends ready to cheer on our soon-to-be-graduates. But our circumstances are far from normal at the moment.

I hope that while you view my commencement video, you take a moment to reflect on all of the ways your UNT education has changed you for the better — the friendships you've made, the new ways you've learned to see the world — and know that even though we can't be together right now, your family, professors and classmates all see those changes in you, too.
