Dear UNT Students,
As I have shared since my arrival at UNT, my commitment to student success is paramount.
I believe we have a fundamental responsibility to support every student we enroll,
so UNT can be the platform for unlocking your potential through transformative learning
experiences. In my first month, I launched a strategic review of our student success
initiatives and programs, to help identify strategies that are most effective for
advancing our commitment to our students.
This week, Dr. Lisa McIntyre, vice provost for student success, and our student success
team are asking students, faculty, and staff to spend a few minutes completing a 3-question rapid assessment of our current student success efforts. Your responses will help us identify and guide key challenges, potential quick wins,
and recommendations for future improvements to better help us serve students. Your perspective is important to us and I encourage you to complete the survey by
Friday, Oct. 11.
Last month, I hosted my first UNT President’s Student Advisory Committeemeeting. This committee comprises more than 25 student representatives from across
campus. This group gives me a valuable opportunity to hear directly from students
about their experiences, insights, and fresh ideas about important issues for our
campus. Engaging with our students is truly one of the most inspiring parts of my
job. I look forward to spending more time with this group later this week, and to
meeting more of you throughout the fall semester.
Thank you for your continued dedication to UNT. I look forward to working together
with you to build an even better future for our university, and I am excited for the
work ahead!
Respectfully,
Harrison Keller, Ph.D.
President
