Dear UNT Community,
UNT continues to be the choice of students and their families to pursue their passions
and graduate career ready so they can launch the career of their dreams.
Students in the DFW area are making connections with our corporate partners like Google,
the Dallas Cowboys, and Omni PGA Resort. Students have access to a comprehensive Career Center that includes access to hundreds of resources, including dedicated career coaches
to help make those oh-so-important connections with industry partners. Career coaches
also help students secure internships and assist in landing jobs upon graduation.
Please join me at two upcoming events to celebrate the expansion of our career center
offerings:
-
- Satish & Yasmin Gupta Career Center Dedication – 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at UNT at Frisco, 12995 Preston Road, Frisco, Texas 75034
Celebrating the first gift entrusted to UNT at Frisco from local business leader Satish
Gupta. This $3 million gift establishes the Satish and Yasmin Gupta Career Center.
- G. Brint Ryan College of Business, The Wilson Jones Career Center Ribbon Cutting – 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at the Business Leadership Building Atrium (BLB 295)
A dedication celebrating the $5 million gift from Wilson (’85) and Jane Jones to build
and name The Wilson Jones Career Center at the G. Brint Ryan College of Business.
I’m excited for what these centers will do to foster strong connections between UNT
and industry partners to provide even more scholarships, cutting-edge programs, and
learning opportunities for our students. I thank Wilson and Jane Jones and Satish
and Yasmin Gupta for their support of our university and investment in the dreams
of our students.
I am thrilled with the progress we’re making at UNT. We continue to drive curriculum
and programs to create educated leaders and innovators who are ready to take on the
ever-changing world of tomorrow. In case you missed it, our newest national video showcases the caring and creative community that aims to make “Your Passion Our Purpose”
a reality for our students.
I am proud to lead this great university and look forward to continued progress as
we soar upward.
UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
