The priority application date to be eligible for scholarships is March 1. Applications will continue to be reviewed after the priority date.
Students who rank in the top 10% of their high school graduating class are eligible for automatic admission to any public university in Texas. Eligible students must complete the university's application process to take advantage of automatic admission.
Juniors in participating school districts who rank in the top 20% of their class will earn guaranteed admission to UNT under the Eagle Advantage program. To be accepted into the Eagle Advantage program, qualified students need to apply to UNT and submit SAT or ACT scores.
Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted.
UNT is test-score-optional, however, submitting test scores can help determine admission decisions, testing exemptions and scholarship opportunities.
If you have taken the SAT or ACT, please have your scores sent to UNT electronically through the testing service.

International applicants must meet the criteria for freshman admission and additional steps, such as satisfying the English requirements. Be sure to review the additional requirements for international applicants.

Under this program, high school seniors may be enrolled concurrently at UNT through coordination with the UNT Director of Admissions and the high school.
We understand that as an ECHS graduate, you are not the same as most incoming freshmen, so it makes sense that your admissions process should be a little different too. We take your college experience into account during our review process.
Incoming students need:
UNT recognizes homeschool programs and works with homeschooled students in their admission to the university. UNT serves homeschooled students through the early admissions program. Since a homeschool does not have a counselor or principal, the parent letter should address both the parent’s permission as well as information about academic progress, success and individual motivation to succeed in a college environment.
Homeschooled students should follow the steps of the freshman application process and submit their online application as well as official homeschool transcript. SAT and ACT scores are encouraged but optional. Homeschooled students admitted early to UNT must have a senior standing and are eligible to take any UNT classes where they meet course requirements or prerequisites.
In addition, homeschooled students must take the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment prior to registering for courses. The TSI Assessment cannot be used in admissions decisions at UNT but is necessary for adequate preregistration advising. For more information on the TSI Assessment, please visit General Advising or call 940-565-3633.
Individual Review is an automatic process that allows UNT Admissions to review the application of any student who does not meet minimum admission requirements. If you are eligible for Individual Review, an email will be sent to you with information on required documentation and how to upload the documents to your myUNT portal.
Factors that may help determine academic readiness under the individual review provision may include, but are not limited to: school attended, courses taken, employment experience, special abilities, individual achievements, leadership activities, public service and extra-curricular activities.

State law TEC 51.803-51.809, Uniform Admissions Policy (UAP) requires applicants of four-year public universities to meet college readiness standards through completion of a high school graduation program or equivalent, or through SAT or ACT score benchmarks. If you attend an out-of-state high school you are exempt from the UAP.
Students must meet one of the following college readiness standards to be eligible for consideration for admission to a Texas four-year public institution:
